Hello Sandwich is a blog by Australian Ebony Bizys who is an Australian artist and graphic designer living in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo. She loves Japan, bento boxes, pantone 107.3 and metallic hologram foil, polka dots and plaid, Holbein gouache and fluro pencils. We downloaded her super cute Tokyo zine for our travels very soon and hope to visit heaps of her recommend shops and cafes. She has just started creating some super cute crafty videos. Here's her tutorial for making some confetti bows.
Her new gift wrapping zine is coming soon! I can't wait.
If you are into super cuteness and anything Japanese I'd totally recommend subscribing to her blog.

AK Zinefest 2010 and Craft - d issue 2
What a fantastic weekend it's been. I've been extremely busy lately preparing my second Craft - d zine for the Auckland Zinefest. The event on Saturday was extremely successful and better than I expected. I managed to sell and swap over 40 of my limited edition 50 copies. I had a shared stand so there was 4 of us on our table. It made for a great opportunity to make friends and get cosy. Here are some photos of some of my preparation, the event and my stall. Thanks to everybody who came, visited and gave me some great feedback.
Both issues will be available to download from today.

My Mikey and I are planning an exciting travel adventure this Christmas. Destinations include New York, Berlin and Tokyo. I've stumbled on two guides to Tokyo I think I'm definately going to need. I can't wait to order and find out all the hotspots we must visit.
The Hello Sandwich Tokyo Guide PDF reviews Ebony Bizys favourite Tokyo suburbs including Shimokitazawa, Gakugeidaigaku, Harajuku, Shibuya, Koenji, Kichijoji, Jiyugaoka, Nakameguro, Aoyama and Daikanyama. The guide also comes complete with links to Google Maps of each suburbs so you can load them onto your iphone to make it just that little bit easier to get around in Tokyo! Visit Ebony's Hello Sandwhich blog for more cuteness.
This guide, Tokyo by Tokyo is published by CLASKA and written entirely by savvy Tokyoites sharing their insider tips on the best places to visit when in Tokyo. From street strolling, delicious food finds, arts and crafts, shopping, site-seeing and more, Tokyo By Tokyo is a unique local guide to the streets of this amazing city. It includes suggestions from some of Tokyo’s most talented ‘creatives’ so it’s perfect for other creative minds looking for an alternative to the usual touristy hotspots.
